From St. Anton over the Winterjöchle to Silbertal

On Saturday 26 June 2027 the Raiffeisen Montafon Arlberg Marathon crosses on foot from St. Anton am Arlberg in Tyrol to Silbertal in Vorarlberg.

The marathon covers 42.195 km and 1,250 metres of climbing on forest and alpine paths through the Natura 2000 area Verwall, away from roads and traffic. From the Dorfstraße in St. Anton the route heads to the Verwallsee, then takes the mountain path over the Silbertaler Winterjöchle past the Langsee, crossing from Tyrol into Vorarlberg. It continues past the Alpe Fresch and the Alpe Gafluna, climbs again from the Fellimännle hut towards the Wasserstubenalpe and Wildried, and drops to the Teufelsbach waterfall before a last loop through Silbertal to the finish at the fire station.

The T33 Trail over 33 km and 1,150 metres also crosses the Winterjöchle from St. Anton to Silbertal. The Panoramatrail of 17 km and 650 metres starts and finishes at the fire station in Silbertal, at 889 metres, and is meant as a way into mountain running. There is also a 33 km hiking option and children's trails of 580 m to 1.2 km.

The provisional start times are 08:00 for the marathon and the hike, 08:30 for the T33, both in front of the tourist office in St. Anton, and 09:45 for the Panoramatrail in Silbertal. Marathon runners must pass the Gasthof Fellimännle at km 28.7 by 14:00, otherwise they are sent onto the T33 course. The finish closes at 17:00. The 23rd edition in 2026 drew around 900 participants.

Entry includes a running shirt, timing, up to 11 aid stations, bag transport between start and finish, a pasta party on Friday and a finisher medal. An early shuttle runs from Silbertal to the start, and public transport within Vorarlberg is free on race day with the entry confirmation. Spectators can wait at the finish by the fire station in Silbertal, where the prize giving is held.
