Mitteldeutscher Marathon

A marathon that connects two cities: 42.195 km from Leipzig to Halle, with a limit of five and a half hours. The organiser calls it a fast course. Its current marathon page lists aid stations at Pfingstanger (km 8), B186 (12), Zur Aue (16), Ermlitz (18), Oberthau (20), Weßmar (22), Raßnitz (25), Lochau (27), Döllnitz (30), Osendorf (32), Bruckdorf (35), Dieselstraße (38) and Thüringer Bahnhof (40), with full catering at the finish.

The same page sets two intermediate cutoffs, at the aid station at kilometre 29.5 and at kilometre 36, with disqualification for runners who miss them; check the 2026 participant information for the exact clock times. The bib is valid for one journey between Leipzig and Halle on the regional MDV network on race day, and clothing bags handed in at the start are returned at the finish. Places are ranked on gun time, personal times are net.

This page is about the 2026 marathon. Most of the course is between the cities, so the people at the start and the people at the finish are rarely the same, and anyone waiting in Halle wants to know one thing: when. On Livebib family and friends open the runner’s shared link in a browser, without an account or an app, and see position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate for the Marktplatz that updates as the race goes. When the signal drops in open country, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated.
