From Greenwich across Tower Bridge to The Mall

A historic 42.195-kilometre journey through British road racing lore, finishing in front of Buckingham Palace.

The TCS London Marathon is one of the world’s greatest endurance spectacles. Starting in the open grass of Greenwich Park and Blackheath, the route curves past the historic masts of the Cutty Sark before runners cross the iconic suspension cables of Tower Bridge at the halfway mark. From the bridge, the race plunges into the winding, concrete labyrinth of Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs — a psychological crucible where many marathons unravel in silence.

The final six miles trace the curve of the River Thames along the Victoria Embankment. With Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament standing ahead, runners turn at Westminster onto Birdcage Walk, digging through the last reserves of energy before swinging into the red tarmac of The Mall toward Buckingham Palace. Livebib cuts through the millions of trackside spectators: live GPS progress, accurate split pacing, and dynamic checkpoint ETAs let supporters follow every stride to the royal finish.
