Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon, live.

Over the voest motorway bridge and into Linz's Hauptplatz

The Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon is Upper Austria's spring road race festival, run since 2002 with races from 5 km to the full marathon.

The 25th Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon is on Sunday 11 April 2027. The organiser calls it a festival of pure joy in movement since 2002 and counts over 21,000 participants. Marathon Sunday has five road races for adults, plus a handbike half marathon, an inline skating half marathon, the ÖGK Juniormarathon for the youngest and the Special Olympics Run.

The marathon over 42.195 km and the half marathon over 21.097 km both start at 09:30 on the voest Autobahnbrücke and finish on the Hauptplatz in Linz. The LINZ AG Viertelmarathon over 10.5 km leaves from the same bridge at 08:45, and the Generali 5K, the shortest distance of the day, whose route an AIMS surveyor measured to IAAF rules, starts at 08:30 on the Untere Donaulände by the Lentos and runs through the city centre to the Hauptplatz. The organiser notes that start times may change.

In the Hyundai Staffelmarathon four people share the marathon. The legs are 10, 11, 14.3 and 6.9 km, with changeovers at Gruberstraße at km 10, on the Promenade at km 21 and at Wienerstraße 175 near the fire station at km 35.3. The organiser points out that many ambitious hobby runners gained their first experience of the Linz running festival on the Viertelmarathon, which has also proved itself as a race for school groups.

Every race finishes on the Hauptplatz. The organiser counts some 150,000 visitors and credits them with turning the marathon into a sporting event with an excellent atmosphere.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Oberbank Linz Donau Marathon.
