Generali Köln Halbmarathon

Generali Köln Halbmarathon

The half goes straight into the city: over the Deutzer Brücke at kilometre 1, through Rudolfplatz at 3, out to Sülz at 7 and along Dürener Straße in Lindenthal at 9, past the Melatenfriedhof and the Aachener Weiher at 11, back through Rudolfplatz at 12, through Ehrenfeld and Venloer Straße at 15, Rudolfplatz a third time at 19, Neumarkt at 19.5 and the Dom at 21. The organiser calls the course flat and fast.

The blocks start in the order red, blue, yellow, green and orange. The limit is 2 hours 45 net, timing mats lie roughly every five kilometres, and missing one means disqualification. The course page lists six aid stations, at 2, 5.6, 9.7, 13.2, 16.5 and 19.5 km. The field is capped at 20,000 and the minimum age is 16. Finishers walk straight from Komödienstraße into the catering village.

This page is about the 2026 half marathon. With fifteen minutes between blocks, a runner in the orange block starts an hour after the first, and the clock on the street says little about where they are. On Livebib family and friends open the runner’s shared link in a browser, no account and no app, and see position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate based on where the runner actually is. Where the signal drops between buildings, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated.
