Syyslenkki polkujuoksu 6,4 km

Syyslenkki polkujuoksu 6,4 km

The short route shares the opening of the long one, so it is real trail from the first kilometre. A few hundred metres of gravel and wide path lead into about 2 km of rooty, partly rocky forest path, with easier pine-needle sections. Then comes a road transfer of about 400 m, about 700 m of smaller, well-surfaced path, and about a kilometre of road and ski track to the Keurusselkä sports park, crossing the hotel road at a guarded crossing.

Just before the Montosvuori climb the 6.4 km turns right, signposted at the junction, and heads towards the shooting range. It follows a path behind the range through the sports park, joins the 200 m disc golf fairway the long route also uses, and comes back to the resort on a straight ski track. The route is marked with blue tapes, arrows and dots on trees. It is open to other users, and the organiser recommends bringing your own drink.

On the short route the finish comes quickly, and the family at the hotel wants to know when to step outside. The runner shares their own Livebib link, which opens in any browser without an account or app, showing the position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. Estimates are marked as such, and a lost signal under the trees does not freeze the dot.
