Speed Trail

The shape of this race is one big climb and one fast way down. From the village centre the course goes up about 1,650 metres past the Wildseelodersee, the mountain lake under the peak, to the panoramic summit of the Wildseeloder: the same mountain the 100 Miles reaches at golden hour two days earlier. The organiser calls it a 24-kilometre technical trail with fast downhill sections, and the descent back to Fieberbrunn is where the time is won or lost.

Six hours is the only limit on the race page, so the finish closes at 15:00. Food and drink for each stop are listed in the organiser’s aid station plan. With almost 70 metres of ascent per kilometre, the Speed Trail is shorter than it looks on paper. It suits runners who like steep ground and want the main summit of the weekend in a single morning.

This page belongs to the 2027 Speed Trail. A race this short goes quickly for the people at the finish, and the interesting question is when the runner tops out and starts down. On Livebib the runner shares a link to their own broadcast: their position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that changes as soon as the descent begins. If the phone loses signal near the summit, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated. A browser is all anyone needs.
