The shortest race of the KAT100 weekend is also the last to start, in the late afternoon of the final day. The organiser calls it a short and fast challenge for beginners and speed-lovers alike. The loop runs over small hills and through valleys around Fieberbrunn, past the Lauchsee and along a mountain stream, and comes back to the same finish the 100-mile runners have been arriving at since the day before.

Two hours is the limit, which leaves room for anyone who can hike briskly. The finish closes at 19:00. With 250 metres of ascent over 8 kilometres it is a real trail run rather than a road race on gravel, but there is no high mountain in it. It suits a first trail race, a partner or friend of someone running a longer distance, or a fast runner who wants to go flat out for half an hour.

If the phone drops its signal in the valley, the position is carried forward along the course and marked estimated rather than freezing.
