HIROSHIMA 100K

The route follows the Ota River out of central Hiroshima to the edge of the city, where a shrine carved into the rock of a sacred waterfall marks the start of the mountains. From there it crosses the ring of mountains around the Hiroshima delta. The highest point is Mt. Shiraki, cresting at almost 900 metres, and the second major climb is Mt. Abu. In between come ridgelines, steep hands-on climbs, technical descents and long sections of forest road. The last part is a flat riverside return to the centre, and the finish comes along the Peace Line beneath the A-bomb Dome.

The 29-hour limit gives a final finish at 11:00 on Sunday 11 April, and the organiser expects the first runner after about 10 hours 30 minutes. Runners hand in a drop bag at check-in for the middle of the race. Mandatory gear is checked at random at selected aid stations, and the top three men and women earn a place in CCC at the UTMB Final.

This page belongs to the 2027 HIROSHIMA 100K. With 29 hours on the clock, many runners will still be out after dark, which is when a Livebib link matters most to the people at home. It shows the runner’s position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. What is estimated is marked as estimated, and when the phone loses signal in the forest the position is carried forward along the course instead of freezing. The runner decides who gets the link.
