Kleine Zeitung Graz Marathon, live.

A sightseeing marathon from the Oper Graz

The Kleine Zeitung Graz Marathon fills the Styrian capital from 8 to 10 October 2027, with the main races on Sunday 10 October in front of the Oper Graz.

The races start in front of the opera house, and the marathon, half and relay finish there too, while the quarter marathon finish moved to the Freiheitsplatz in 2026. On Sunday the quarter marathon starts first at 09:30. The elite and the first block of the marathon and relay go at 10:00, and the half marathon starts in blocks from 10:00 to 10:15. The organiser notes that times may still change.

The marathon is measured to AIMS standards and is a tour of the city's sights. In the Hyundai Staffelmarathon teams of four share the distance, with exchanges at the corner of Korösistraße and Wickenburggasse and at the Schlossberghotel. The legs measure about 10, 9.1, 12 and 11.1 km.

In 2026 the 33rd edition drew 15,000 registrations. The choice of distances makes it a good weekend for clubs, families and friends who run at different levels, and the October date fits after a summer of training.

The organiser promises thousands of spectators and goosebump atmosphere along the course, and food and drink for the weekend are served in the catering area right in front of the Oper Graz.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Graz Marathon.
