The 10 km was new to Esbjerg City Half in 2026. The organiser describes it as a route through the streets of Esbjerg, starting and finishing on Torvet, so it is the distance that keeps the runners closest to the centre and to the people waiting there. It has the same three-and-a-half-hour limit as the half marathon, which makes it open to anyone who can cover ten kilometres at a walk-jog, and the minimum age is 10.

It suits a first race, a family entry with an older child, or a runner who wants a fast road 10 km on a certified course: the event is certified by Dansk Atletik Forbund and DGI. Everyone who finishes gets the Esbjerg City Half medal and food in the finish area. This page is about the 2026 edition of the 10 km.
