Bodenhäusle Trail

Fourteen kilometres with 610 metres of climbing is a steep ratio, and the organiser does not hide it: the loop climbs hard to Café Bodenhäusle at 700 m, then comes back to the school on forest paths and single trails. That café is also the first aid station of the 55.8 km Elztal Trail the same morning, so the two Saturday races share a hill. The only aid on the short course is at the finish on the school grounds in Elzach.

There is no time limit. A switched-on smartphone is the only mandatory item, and there is no gear check. The race also counts toward the Schwarzwald Berglauf Pokal under that cup’s own rules, and age groups run from U18 and U20 up to M75/W75 in five-year bands. The award ceremony is at 14:00.

This page is about the 2026 Bodenhäusle Trail. It is short enough that most of a runner’s family will be waiting at the finish rather than out on the course, and the question is simply when to stand at the line. If the phone loses signal on the climb, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated.
