Biereck-Bachere Trail

The organiser presents this one as the way into trail running: 23.1 km and 510 metres of ascent, mostly on paths and trails that run well. The course climbs to the Gasthaus Biereck in Hofstetten, passes the remote hamlets of Bachere and Leimental, and climbs once more to the Pfaffenkapelle before dropping back to the school in Elzach. Aid stations stand at the Gasthaus Biereck car park (8.5 km), Rossiweg in Biederbach-Bachere (11.8 km) and the school grounds (21.9 km).

The time limit is 4 hours. A switched-on smartphone is the only mandatory item, and there is no gear check. Results count toward the UTMB Index, and the award ceremony is at 14:00. The schedule lists the race at 22 km and the course page at 23.1 km; the course page’s number is used here.

This page is about the 2026 Biereck-Bachere Trail. The longest gap between aid stations is the ten kilometres from Bachere back to Elzach, past the Pfaffenkapelle. On Livebib family and friends open the runner’s shared link in a browser, with no account and no app, and see position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as she runs. When the phone loses signal on the way to the hamlets, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated instead of freezing.
