Three countries along Lake Constance

The Sparkasse 3-Länder-Marathon on Sunday 10 October 2027 starts in Lindau in Germany and finishes in the stadium in Bregenz in Austria, with a loop through Switzerland.

The marathon starts at 09:45 at the harbour of the historic island town of Lindau and crosses into Austria, where the course runs through the Seebühne, the lake stage in Bregenz. A loop through Switzerland leads through the village centre of St. Margrethen, and the course then follows the Rhine back into Austria to the finish in the Bodensee-Stadion in Bregenz. About 60 percent of the route runs along Lake Constance.

The course is mostly on asphalt roads and paths and very flat, with only 17 metres between the lowest point at 398 metres and the highest at 415 metres. It is a point to point course measured to the international competition rules and the standards of AIMS. The organiser is SEG Sport Event GmbH.

The Skinfit Halbmarathon of 21.097 km starts at 10:30 and the vkw Viertelmarathon of 10.9 km at 09:45, both in Lindau with the finish in Bregenz. A marathon relay for teams of four, Nordic walking over 10.9 km, a 5 km youth run and the Vorarlberg bewegt Kindermarathon on Saturday 9 October 2027 complete the weekend. The marathon is open from 18 years, the half marathon from 16 and the quarter marathon from 15. The marathon finish closes at 16:30.

Aid and drink stations stand every 5 km, with extra water points from km 12.5. With the start number, participants, helpers and spectators travel free by bus and train within Vorarlberg and from the border stations Buchs, St. Margrethen, Lindau and St. Anton am Arlberg. For 2027 the organiser will limit start places in some races.
