Six kilometres of open water on the northern part of Lake Vidöstern — the shortest of the day’s serious distances and the one that introduces swimmers to a lake big enough that the far shore stops being a useful reference. It is long enough to need feeding and short enough to be done in a morning.

For most entrants it is the first step toward the 21 and the 42, and it shares the start, the water and the finish with them. This page belongs to the 2026 edition of the six kilometres.
