Ninety kilometres from Sälen to Mora

The world’s oldest and largest cross-country ski race traces 90 historic kilometres from Berga by to the legendary finish portal in Mora.

Vasaloppet is the pinnacle of Nordic winter endurance, drawing thousands of skiers to Dalarna each March to commemorate Gustav Vasa’s historic flight in 1521. The mass start at Berga by in Sälen creates one of sport’s most iconic sights as waves of skiers converge on the initial Startbacken climb, tackling the ascent toward the open peat bogs of Smågan. The 90-kilometre corridor unfolds through deep pine wilderness across seven storied checkpoints: Smågan, Mångsbodarna, Risberg, the high plateau of Evertsberg, Oxberg, Hökberg and Eldris.

Skiers navigate freezing temperatures, changing wax conditions and fatigue as they push toward the famous finish portal in Mora beneath the immortal inscription "I fäders spår för framtids segrar". On Livebib, friends, families and ski clubs follow the action in real time: live GPS ski progression, checkpoint split times, glide pace telemetry, and precise arrival predictions for the final stretch into Mora.
