Six laps of seven kilometres

A small-town marathon on a measured lap of just over seven kilometres, where every runner passes the hall and the depot again and again.

Tidaholm Marathon is held on Saturday 3 October 2026 from Rosenbergs idrottshall on Regnbågsvägen in Tidaholm, where start, finish and parking are all in one place. It is the third edition, organised by Cykelklubben U6 and Motionsloppet.se. The lap is certified by Svenska Friidrottsförbundet and measured at 7,012.5 metres: the marathon runs six laps from 10:00 and the half marathon three laps from 10:15, each starting a short way before the finish line so the distance comes out exact.

The lap uses cycle paths and streets, with shorter gravel stretches through two parks. The roads are not closed, so pedestrians and cyclists may share the course. There are two depots with water and sports drink, one after about 3,500 metres and one at the finish, which every runner passes once a lap. The maximum time is 6 hours 30 minutes for the marathon and 6 hours 15 minutes for the half, and the race doubles as the Västsvenska Friidrottsförbundet marathon championship.

On Livebib the runner shares a link to their own broadcast, and family and friends open it in a browser, with no account and no app. They see the runner’s position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. On a lap course that matters: anyone waiting by the hall knows which lap the runner is on and roughly when they will come past next. If the phone loses its signal, the position is carried forward along the lap and marked as estimated instead of freezing. The runner decides who gets the link.
