Finishing inside the 1912 Olympic stadium

One lap of the capital that starts on Lidingövägen and ends on the track of Stockholms Stadion, the arena of the 1912 Olympic Games.

adidas Stockholm Marathon is run on Saturday 29 May 2027, and the organiser lists it as sold out. The preliminary start time is 12:00 on Lidingövägen in Östermalm, outside the clock tower of Stockholms Stadion, and the finish is inside the stadium itself. The race is organised by the athletics clubs Hässelby SK and Spårvägens FK, and the course is control-measured at 42,195 metres.

The 2026 course was one lap through Östermalm, Vasastan, Kungsholmen, Gamla Stan, Djurgården and Södermalm, and its character sits in its hills: almost 600 metres up Narvavägen around km 9, the long drag at Manilla near km 15, Katarinavägen up from Slussen around km 22, Lundagatan to the highest point near km 27, then Västerbron and Flemminggatan up to Rådhuset after km 32. The flat relief comes between them, two straight kilometres along Norr Mälarstrand toward Stadshuset. The maximum time is 6 hours 30 minutes, and four checkpoints have cutoff times that apply whatever time a runner crossed the start line.

Start waves and a long day make it hard to know from the pavement where one person actually is. A runner can share a link to their own Livebib broadcast: family and friends open it in a browser, with no account and no app, and see the runner on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. Anything estimated is marked as estimated, and the runner decides who gets the link — useful for whoever is waiting at Västerbron, and for whoever has to be in Stadion when the runner comes in.
