Trail running through the forests of Säve

Säve Trail Run is a trail race organised by Säve SK in Säve, north of Göteborg.

Säve Trail Run takes the field through the varied and hilly countryside of Säve, north of Göteborg. The organiser wants a day of joy in running, community and strong feelings at the finish, not only time and performance. Every participant receives a medal at the finish, and timing is by a chip in the bib.

The courses follow paths through forest and varied terrain. The organiser describes the 12 km as hilly, passing dense spruce forest, broadleaf woodland, open rock slabs, gravel road, stony sections and soft pine paths, with one steep slope fitted with a rope. Some parts can be wet where streams run beside the path. Short sections of the 12 km and 7 km follow a marked bridleway. The courses are marked with tape, red for 12 km, yellow for 7 km and blue for 2 km.

There are three distances, 12 km, 7 km and 2 km, meant for newcomers and experienced participants alike. The next edition is on 28 August 2027, with preliminary start times of 13:00 for the 12 km, 13:30 for the 7 km and 15:00 for the 2 km. Start and finish are at the Säve SK clubhouse, where family and friends gather. There are 2 drink stations on the 12 km and 1 on the 7 km.

Those who cannot be there can follow from home. A person taking part can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the organiser.
