Händellauf Halbmarathon

Händellauf Halbmarathon

The organiser describes the Händellauf as a run on the paths Halle’s runners use themselves, through the green lung of Händel’s city: along the Saale, through shaded woods and past viewpoints and historic sites, before returning to the Marktplatz. The limit is three hours. The organiser’s current page lists aid stations at Waldkater, Heide-Süd, Talstraße and Ziegelwiese, with full catering on the Marktplatz; it also says the course has been changed and made flatter for 2027, so the 2026 line may differ in detail.

The organiser also lists a relay in which four runners share the half marathon. Bags can be left at the Stadthaus, changing rooms and showers are at the Friedrich-List-Schule, and the finish is shared with the marathon runners coming in from Leipzig, so the square is busy all late morning. Places are ranked on gun time, with net time as the personal result.

This page is about the 2026 half marathon. Starting two hours after the marathon, the half has its runners on the Saale paths while the marathon field is still on its way from Leipzig, and families on the Marktplatz may be waiting for both. On Livebib they open each runner’s shared link in a browser, with no account and no app, and see position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as they run. In the woods, where the phone can lose signal, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated.
