Frankfurt Marathon 2026: Sunday 25 October

The marathon begins at 10:00 local time. The organiser publishes four waves; all marathon runners must have started by 10:30.

Official sources checked 20 October 2026. Follow your assigned start block and the organiser’s latest instructions.

Start time and the overnight clock change

Germany returns to standard time before Sunday’s race. Times are Frankfurt local time, CET (UTC+1). Set any manual watch back one hour. The published 10:00 first start does not assign an exact gun to every wave. Do not confuse the marathon start with the separately scheduled relay.

Collect the number at Messe Frankfurt

The published collection point is Hall 1, Level 2, at Messe Frankfurt. Sunday collection is available, but reaching the desk before it closes does not remove the need to reach your start block in time. Check the organiser’s access and collection requirements.

Festhalle viewing and meeting afterwards

The organiser says spectators can use the Festhalle grandstands free of charge. The finish channel and runner catering areas are for athletes, not a reunion point. Agree a meeting location outside the controlled area and follow the on-site access directions.

The marathon has a six-hour net time limit, and the published Festhalle finish closure is 16:45. These are different facts: do not derive the closing time by adding six hours to the first start.

Official results, not an old replay

Use the organiser’s results page and select the relevant edition when 2026 is available. This guide does not confirm a 2026 video stream: an older race replay must not be presented as this Sunday’s live coverage. Official chip results and a runner’s voluntary Livebib broadcast are separate services.

Course & challenge

From the city streets into the Festhalle

Frankfurt Marathon runs 42.195 km, with a start on Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage and a finish inside the Festhalle.

The Festhalle finish is a useful anchor for planning Frankfurt Marathon, but it does not mean that runners and supporters can move through the same spaces. Before the race, agree where to watch and where to meet after the runner has left the controlled finish area. An indoor finish gives the day a distinctive final scene; a sensible reunion plan still needs a clear location outside the athlete-only flow and enough time for the runner to reach it.

At the start, distinguish the published opening gun from your own assigned wave and block. The organiser groups participants by expected performance, so a friend should not assume that a runner began with the front of the race. The edition guide gives the confirmed starting window without inventing a separate time for each wave. Read the allocation on the bib and the organiser’s access instructions before making last-minute plans.

For official progress and classifications, use the organiser’s timing and results links. A personal phone broadcast on Livebib is optional and independent: it is not an official timing feed or a guarantee that every participant can be followed. A video from a previous edition is also not a live broadcast of this year’s race. Check the event year before sharing a stream or results link with family.
