Dalsland X-Trail Utmaningen 22 km

This page covers the 22 km Challenge at Dalsland X-Trail in 2026. It is built from the race’s two loops in a row: first the long course’s 13 kilometres, then back through Långevi and out on the short course’s 9. The Challenge starts together with the long course at 11:30, so on the first loop its runners share the field with those going round only once. As they pass the finish area a split is taken, and then it is out onto the second loop while most of the 13 km field is already done.

There are three aid stations on the Challenge, with water, energy drink and bananas. The course is marked with yellow arrows on a black background, and the organisers publish no climbing figure, so expect Dalsland forest terrain rather than a known number of metres. Anyone who needs to stop should ideally do so at an aid station. Every finisher gets a medal, and the top three in each women’s and men’s class receive a plaque at the prize-giving at 14:00.

Two loops means two long stretches of forest where nobody can see the runner. With Livebib the runner shares a link to their own broadcast, and family and friends see in a browser, with no account and no app, where on the loop she is, how far she has come, and a finish estimate that updates during the race. If the phone loses signal, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated, and whoever waits at Långevi knows when to walk over to the line.
