The map in 3D
In 3D you see the course in the real terrain: the mountains, the valleys and the climb ahead of the runner.
Open the 3D view
- Tap “3D” in the switch at the top of the map.
- Tap Follow on the right to fly behind the runner like a drone, or drag to look around.
- Use the turn buttons to swing the view, and the compass to point north again.
“Photo”: the real landscape
In 3D, “🛰 Photo” lays aerial photos over the terrain, so you see forest, rock and snow as they are. Tap it again to go back to the map.
“Terrain” on the flat map
In 2D, “⛰ Terrain” shades the hills on the map. The page remembers your choice on this device.
Why is there no 3D button?
- The 3D map for this course is not ready yet. While it is being made you see “⛰ terrain” in amber where the button will be.
- Your device may not be powerful enough for 3D. Older phones and phones in data saver mode get the flat map.
- The 3D map could not load just now. The button comes back by itself a little later.
Fly a climb in 3D
On a climb card under “Stats”, tap “▶ 3D” to fly that climb from the foot to the top, with the gradient on the way.
