# When will they finish?

Under the runner's name you see when they should reach the next checkpoint and the finish. Times marked with ≈ are our estimates.

## “Next checkpoint”

The name of the next checkpoint and roughly when the runner should get there. “any moment” means the time has passed and they could arrive at any second. A dash means there is no estimate right now, for example while they rest.

## “Est. finish”

Our estimate of the finish time, from how the runner has moved so far and what is left of the course, including the climbs. It changes as the race goes on.

“If the goal holds” means the estimate comes from the runner's own goal time, because there is not enough of the race yet to go on. “Finishing” and “soon” appear on the final stretch.

## Ahead of or behind plan

If the runner has set a goal time, you see how far ahead of or behind that plan they are, for example “12 min ahead of plan”.

## “Est. time left” and “Elapsed”

“Elapsed” is the race clock since the start. “Est. time left” is how long we think the rest takes. Both stop at the finish.

## The finish estimate over time

Under “Stats”, “Estimated finish” draws what the page predicted at each moment of the race, one reading every five minutes. A dashed stretch was reconstructed afterwards from the recorded track.

## How accurate is it?

It is an estimate, and estimates are marked in amber. Long breaks and the night are hard to predict, so it moves more early on. Official times come from the organiser.
