Find a trail

Livebib has a page for the marked trails and running tracks in OpenStreetMap: hiking trails, exercise loops, cycle and MTB routes and ski tracks. Find the ones near you, take a trail to your watch as a GPX file, or broadcast your run along it.

Trails near you

  1. Open livebib.com/trails and choose your country.
  2. Choose your town. Its page shows the trails and running tracks around it, on a map and in a list by sport, nearest first.
  3. Tap a trail to open its page.

The trails come from OpenStreetMap and are updated every week.

A trail’s page

A trail’s page shows its length, the colour it is waymarked with and the towns along it.

“Races on this trail” lists the races whose course runs along it, and for how far. A race’s own page lists the trails its course runs on in the same way.

Take it to your watch

  1. Tap “Download GPX” on the trail’s page.
  2. Open the file in your watch’s app, or in any app that reads GPX.

The file starts where the trail starts. A trail mapped as several loops, or with a gap in the middle, has no file.

Broadcast your run on a trail

  1. Tap “Broadcast on this trail” on the trail’s page.
  2. Choose when you set off and create the broadcast. The trail’s line is already your course.
  3. When it is time, start it in the Livebib app, where it is waiting for you.

The people following you see where on the trail you are.

Make your own route

“Draw a route here” opens the route builder at the trail, with the marked trails on the map. Follow part of it, or join two trails into a loop.
