# Ask the race: how it works

Wondering something about the race? Ask in the chat and Livebib AI answers right there. The answer is written by AI, everyone sees the question and the answer, and the answer can be wrong.

## Ask a question

1. Open the chat and tap “✦ Ask the race”.
2. Write your question, for example “When will she reach the next station?”.
3. Tap “Send”. While you wait, the chat says “Livebib AI is thinking”. The answer comes from “Livebib AI”.

> You don't need to write @livebib. You need to be logged in: if you are not, you log in when you send, and your question is kept.

## What does Livebib AI know?

Only what is in the broadcast: how far the runner has come, the pace, times, stations, the weather and the course. If the data cannot answer, it says so.

It never talks about health, disqualification or cheating, and never posts links. It never sees the runner's name, nor where they are inside their privacy zones. It answers in the language you ask in.

## Can the answer be wrong?

Yes. Livebib AI works from the same data as the broadcast, but it can misread a question or get a number wrong. When it matters, like times and cut-offs, trust the race organiser.

## Why did no answer come?

- Many people are asking on this race right now. Ask again in a few minutes.
- You have asked several times in a short while. Ask again in a few minutes.
- The runner's position is not shown right now, for example inside a privacy zone. Then Livebib AI cannot say where they are.
- The runner has turned Ask the race off.

> When your question gets no answer, the chat tells you why, and only you see that note.
